Jan L. Roppo has loved creating art ever since she could hold a crayon. She majored in Fine Arts at Ohio State University. Jan says that she enjoys non-representational art because it is an effective way to express thoughts and feelings non-verbally, and also because it allows the viewer the opportunity to interpret each piece in their own individual way.
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where I was first publicly recognized as an artist at the early age of 14. A citizen of the United States for 35 years, I reside in South Florida with my family. South Florida inspires me through its diverse culture, tropical climate and array of available medium to draw upon for my artistic creations. I have worked with many genres, mediums and materials over the years in creating my canvases, murals, furniture, faux finishes, wood graining and array of artistic projects
Photography is my passion. I love to mirror the reality from my point of view adding a touch of elegance, simplicity and color. Portraying people, capturing vibes and richness in color are some of the reasons I love doing what I do.
