The City of Pembroke Pines will perform a two week period of aggressive chlorination of the city’s waterlines beginning on February 9, 2009.  The waterlines will then be flushed for a period of 7 days after the chlorination.

Modification of Disinfection Process (Super chlorination)

The City of Pembroke Pines will modify its Water disinfection Process for a three (3) week period commencing February 9th, 2009 by boosting Chlorine 30% with simultaneous hydrant flushing.  Customers may experience unusual, taste, odor, cloudiness.  However, the water is safe to drink.  This annual practice is recommended by the Department of Health to ensure that the City’s Water supply is maintained at optimal safe levels.  By February 27th, 2009 the treatment will revert back to normal disinfection by means of Chloramine.  For questions please call Public Services (954) 450-6900 or 435-6511 or 435-6577.
