….Purchase fresh greens at the City
of Pembroke Pines
Back to Nature Farmers Market at
City Center, 10100 Pines Boulevard,
on three consecutive Saturdays,
September 26th, October 3rd and 10th
from 9:00a.m. until 1:00p.m.
The very popular Pines Garden Show
(formerly held at the William
Armstrong Dream Park) will join with
the Farmers Market to create a
healthy and very green family
event.
“The
Pembroke Pines Back to Nature
Farmers market is the brainchild of
Mayor Frank C. Ortis and
Commissioner Carl Shechter who want
to use the centrally located City
Center property, until the site is
developed,” said
Rose Colombo Chairwoman of the event.
“We are expecting great crowds to
attend and take advantage of
delicious fresh vegetables and
fruit, which local produce vendors
will be selling.”
Visitors to the Back
to Nature Farmers Market will enjoy
the opportunity to purchase
delicious fresh vegetables and
fruit, native plants, trees, flowers
and orchids. Garden professionals
will demonstrate how to attract
birds and butterflies, care for
trees, lawns and landscaping and the
very important art of proper tree
trimming how to create vegetable and
flower gardens and even a self
sustaining Water Feature to attract
native ferns and frogs. “We would
like to have as many
organic and natural product vendors
as possible” said Colombo.
