Following the 8:30a.m City of Pembroke Pines September 11th Observance the public is invited to view the memorial sculptures at a 911 Open House at the Holly Lake Fire Station. Pembroke Pines, FL… August 24, 2010…. The public is invited to join in the Saturday, September 11th Observance, at the City of Pembroke Pines - City Hall, 10100 Pines Blvd.  The ceremony will begin at 8:30a.m. “We will honor the thousands of lives lost, and the people whose lives changed forever on September 11, 2001,” said Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank C. Ortis.  

Immediately following the ceremony at City Hall, the public is invited the 911 Open House from 9:30 am to 12 noon to view memorial sculptures at the Holly Lake Fire Station, 21500 Johnson Street, just West of Highway #27 (Mapquest 33029).  The steel and marble sculptures on display were commissioned by the City of Pembroke Pines and presented by the Parks & Recreation Department and the Arts & Culture Advisory Board.  

Transportation will be provided from City Hall to the Fire Station.   Visitors will preview the statues, which are works in progress.  These pieces will eventually be located at the City Center.
