Kathryn Velez - Employee of the Third Quarter 2007
Congratulations to
Kathryn Velez who was voted Employee of the
Third Quarter. Kathryn has been employed with
the City for five years, which has been with
Fire Prevention Bureau of the Fire Department.
Since day one, Kathryn has continuously and
consistently gone above and beyond what she is
called on for. For example, she taught herself a
new computer program in order to create the Fire
Department Annual Report and dedicates her time
for the preparation on the Annual Little Miss
Flicker Contest.
Kathryn is described as compassionate and
extraordinary by some of her co-workers. Her
pride and loyalty to the job is obvious.
Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys exercising and
skiing but her most important hobby is spending
quality time with her eight-year-old daughter
Amanda. When asked what was the best part of the
job is, she stated “Having the opportunity to
work with the public, and also the privilege to
have a wide range of duties.”
The City is proud to have an employee as devoted
as Kathryn. She is a tremendous asset to her
department as well as the City.
