Employee of the Third Quarter 2008
Congratulations to Karin Lu, who was voted
Employee of the Third Quarter. Karin has been
employed with the City for almost five years,
serving as an Accountant in the Finance
Department. Some of Karin’s initial
responsibilities with the City included the
handling of the daily cashiering deposits, cell
phone tower rental collections, and the posting
of the State Sales Tax Reciepts. But due to her
superb abilities and work ethic, she is now also
involved with the City programs Smart Check and
Smart Receivables, wire transfers, fixed assets,
as well as taking part of the City’s KAPOW
program.
Described by her co workers as hard working and
dedicated, Karin is well liked by her peers. A
fellow employee said “Karin seems to be cross
trained in just about every aspect of the
Finance Department; she’s a real team player.”
Another employee is quoted as saying “Karin has
helped make this place more efficient, and an
enjoyable place to work.”
Karin was very appreciative to her co workers
for nominating her and stated “The best thing
about working here is the people. Everyone is
very kind and generous, and enjoys being a part
of such a supportive team.”
The City is proud to have an employee as devoted
as Karin Lu. She is a great reflection upon the
Finance Department and to the City of Pembroke
Pines as well.
