Dear Friends:
You have twice elected me to serve as
your City Commissioner for Pembroke
Pines District 4, the southwestern
portion of our city. District 4 includes
those living south of Pines Boulevard,
north of Pembroke Road, and west of
Flamingo Road, plus Chapel Trail and
Malibu Bay. I am honored to represent
you in City Hall. We are a culturally
diverse and exciting community joined
together by a common pride, purpose, and
desire to see our community progress. We
are a vibrant and friendly community of
residents, thriving businesses, parks
and environmentally preserved areas. I
love our city. My wife and I are proud
to raise our family here, and it is that
sense of caring that calls me to defend
and protect our city, to help make it
better, and to uphold the standards that
make our quality of life so special.
I tell people all the time that Pembroke
Pines is the best place in all of
Florida to live and raise a family, do
business, play or retire. Few
communities offer our high quality of
life, low taxes and great services. We
are not a community of complainers.
Whenever Pembroke Pines sees a problem,
we come together, figure it out and fix
it. That’s because we love our city, we
believe in high standards, and we want
it kept that way. We speak up when we
see something we like and when we see
something that needs improving. Our City
Hall responds to the needs of residents
and businesses. That’s why we are a
great small city.
The responsibility you have given me to
represent you in City Hall is an
obligation that I strive daily to uphold
to the very best of my ability. I meet
with Pines residents constantly to learn
what they think and how we can improve
our city. That input is essential
because it keeps me focused on what is
important to you. I take the time to
listen to residents and businesses, to
help resolve their concerns or improve
how the city provides services. Our city
faces difficult and challenging days
ahead. We must continue to work together
as a community in order to maintain our
commitment to high standards. Nothing
less would be acceptable in Pembroke
Pines, and that's what makes us an All
American City.
To keep you well informed, each month I
write an article that appears in many
local newsletters and community
magazines. Please share your thoughts
and comments with me about the articles
or about our city. Your comments are
always welcome, and I can assist you in
English or Spanish as you prefer.
Angelo Castillo, Commissioner
City of Pembroke Pines,
District #4
