The Counseling Department of the Southwest Focal Point Senior Center provides individual, group, couples, and family counseling to clients 60 years of age and older, and their Caregivers. To schedule an appointment, the client may see the Counselor in the Senior Center, or call (954) 450-6888.

Support Groups

Group sessions and a variety of focus specific support groups are conducted on a regularly scheduled basis, facilitated by the counselor and volunteers. Support groups will vary as to the needs of the center clientele and the community; if you have a need for a focus specific group that we do not presently schedule, please speak with the counselor. Educational and Public Service Seminars

Educational and public service seminars are provided throughout the year. If you have a topic of interest or concern, please speak with the counselor. There are many fascinating speakers within our community, and many intriguing topics to discuss. We can always learn something new and exciting!

Funding for the Counseling Department is received through a grant from the Area Agency on Aging and monies provided by the City of Pembroke Pines, thereby allowing for appointments that are free of charge to the client. Donations to the Counseling Department are always gratefully accepted, and are used for expansion of Senior Programming.
