ANNUAL CODE CONFERENCE -
INSPECTIONS
On WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8TH AND THURSDAY, APRIL 9TH, 2009, the Twenty
First Annual Conference for Building Officials and Inspectors will
be held in Davie. Certified inspectors, chief inspectors, and plans
examiners will attend in order to obtain continuing education
required to maintain their licenses.
NO STRUCTURAL, MECHANICAL,
PLUMBING OR ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS WILL BE DONE ON WEDNESDAY OR
THURSDAY.
Inspections and
plan review for all disciplines will resume on Monday, April 13,
2009. All Administrative offices of the City are closed Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday. No inspections will be scheduled for Friday,
Saturday, or Sunday.
Fire, utilities, landscaping and engineering inspections will be
done as usual.

Re: “Affidavit of Awareness of Homeowners’ Association Regulations”
requirement
Effective 8/2/07 it is a City
requirement to receive an Affidavit of Awareness of Homeowners’
Association Regulations for all residential jobs for exterior
renovations. No job will be approved until this form has been
submitted. The affidavit form

A mailing fee will be charged when
applicable.
“Owner/Builders and Contractors may schedule inspections online.
Owner/Builders
may use a PIN number and permit number to use this service. The PIN number
is located in the upper right corner of the Building Division Permit
Application paperwork, or contact Building Division to obtain
the PIN. Contractors may contact the Building Division to obtain their
code. A contractor’s code and permit number are required for contractors
to use this service.”

Objectives of the Building Division
- Licensing
Protect resident consumers in Pembroke Pines from unlicensed contractors.
- Provide information to homeowners about "Notice of Commencement."
- Verify licenses, insurance and registration requirements for contractors as required by State, County and Municipal Code.
- Field Inspection
- Provide timely inspections.
- Comply with mandatory inspection guidelines established by the Board of Rules and Appeals.
- Ensure high-quality inspections by maintaining appropriate field inspector workloads (inspections/ day/ inspector).
- Incomplete or expired permits
- Reduce expired permits.
- Verify that permits have been obtained for work covered under the Building Code.
- Permit Processing
- Maintain acceptable length of time for plan review and permit processing.
