PLACE OF OCCURRENCE: Flamingo Villas - 1400 Blk of NW 122nd Av

An afternoon residential structure fire injured two people and caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to a town home in the Flamingo Villas development.



Pembroke Pines Police and Fire units responded to the 1400 block of NW 122nd Terrace around 3:20 pm after neighbors called 911 to report seeing smoke and fire coming from a second floor window of the residence. Units arriving five minutes later made contact with one of the residence’s occupants out front who said that there was a fire in an upstairs bedroom.



Paramedics transported an adult occupant of the residence to Memorial Hospital west for injuries sustained as a result of the fire and his condition is not known. A neighbor was treated on scene for minor injuries sustained while trying to assist the occupant out of the home.



Two cats inside of the residence at the time of the fire perished.



Fire investigators are continuing their probe in order to determine the cause of this fire.
