PLACE OF OCCURRENCE: 15900 Block of SW 15th Street
Pembroke Pines Fire Department has transported an adult male patient to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment for injuries sustained from a firework mishap.
Paramedics responded to the 15900 Block of SW 15TH Street, Pembroke Pines at around 9:15 pm this evening to assist a person with a hand injury.
Upon arrival in the Winston Pines development, a 27 year old male patient was found to suffering from serious flesh injuries to his right hand especially to his little finger (pinky) and thumb.
The patient reported that some sort of firework discharged in his hand while he was attempting to light it.
The man was treated for percussion related injuries consistent with a firework going of in very close proximity to the skin.
The patient's care has been turner over to the Emergency Department at Memorial Regional Hospital.
