PLACE OF OCCURRENCE: 738 SW 107th Av


Pembroke Pines Fire Department is currently investigating a suspicious house fire at 738 SW 107th Av. in the Hampton Isle development of Pembroke Pines.



This is an active scene and the following preliminary information is available:


At around 1120 this morning, units from the Pembroke Pines Fire Department were requested to respond a house on fire in the 700 block of SW 107th Av in the Hampton Isles Development.


Arriving firefighters and paramedics observed flames and smoke emitting from the townhouse at the location.

Also an adult male patient was discovered on scene who had sustained gun shot wound injuries.


The 45 year old male patient was transported by ground to Memorial Regional Hospital's Trauma Center as a "Trauma Alert" with serious life threatening injuries. At this time, the patient's condition is stabilized under the care of Memorial Hospital medical
staff.


Once on scene, firefighters engaged in fire suppression activities and were able to extinguish the fire in the residence quickly. The fire was contained to the two bedroom townhome where the blaze originated and it did not spread to other units. The damage
is described as "significant" throughout the interior of the unit and is estimated to be in excess $70,000.


While the fire burned inside the home, firefighters searched the interior for any occupants. These searches did not locate any occupants inside.


The cause of the fire is being labeled as suspicious and fire investigators from the Pembroke Pines Fire Prevention Bureau and the State Fire Marshal's office remain on scene investigating.
