For Program Year 2008 the City of Pembroke Pines received $4,398.575 in emergency assistance through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) to facilitate the purchase and rehabilitation of foreclosed and abandoned properties that might otherwise become sources of abandonment and blight within the community. The program addresses code violations, roof replacement, storm shutters/impact windows and doors, a/c unit replacement, electrical upgrades, exterior painting, and other non-cosmetic repairs.
