Disqualifiers
Automatic background disqualifiers include, but are not limited to:
  • Applicant must not have had one or more driver’s license suspensions in the last five years in any state, other than financial responsibility or an error of the courts or the Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Applicant must not have been arrested or received any citations in the past five years for leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, DUI, or DWI
  • Applicant must not have been convicted within the past 10 years of leaving the scene of an accident, DUI, or DWI
  • Applicant must not have received more than three citations for moving violations within the past three years, or three moving citations in any one year period in the past five years, where the adjudication is anything other than “not guilty”
  • Applicant must not have been terminated or forced to resign from any law enforcement agency within the last five years if the firing was not overturned during appeal
  • Applicant must not have any felony convictions or misdemeanors involving perjury or false statements; or plead no contest or guilty to any of those crimes
  • Applicant must not have had any recent use of any illegal controlled substance
  • Applicant must not have had any failure to disclose any traffic tickets, convictions, past employer information, or any other pertinent / relevant information in your background
  • Applicant must not have failed our background investigation or psychological exam in the past year
  • Applicant must not have any expired testing: CJBAT, TABE, or BMST
