PUPPET SHOWS

Now is the time for all of us to remember what we have learned about safety. That's where the famous Crime Watch puppet shows come in. We teach safety lessons to children through the use of puppets and adults also find the shows informative and enjoyable.

Crime Watch performs these puppet shows for free in our community at daycare centers, preschools, elementary schools, community centers, clubhouses, businesses, apartment complexes, churches, mosques and synagogues or any other place where there are children.

We perform Stranger Danger, Traffic Safety, Shoplifting, Stop, Drop and Roll, and Crawl Low In Smoke to name a few of the shows. A Pembroke Pines police officer from the Community Affairs Unit or a Crime Prevention Practitioner from Citizens’ Crime Watch speaks to the children before and after each show to reinforce the lessons learned.

After seeing the shows we know that you'll want to volunteer to become a puppeteer like the other generous people who donate a little of their time to our children and community. It's easy to do. You only have to animate the puppets; the script and songs are on audio tape. Most shows occur during the weekdays but occasionally we do perform some on Saturdays and weeknights.

Everyone loves the shows from the youngest baby to the oldest adult! So call us at Crime Watch to schedule a puppet show for your group or to become a puppeteer volunteer. Call Lou Manfra, Director of Crime Watch, at 954-435-6528.
