  • Intensive background Investigation
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Polygraph Exam
  • High School Graduate or G.E.D.
  • Applicants must pass the TABE test with a minimum score of 12.9 in Language/reading and 11.0 in math
  • Psychological Screening
  • Copy of FDLE Certificate (if Florida certified)
  • Medical and Drug Screen
  • No felony convictions and certain misdemeanors
  • Honorable discharge if any service in the Armed Forces

Minimum Qualifications for POLICE SERVICE AIDE

The Police Service Aide position was developed to free police officers from duties which do not require sworn law enforcement responses. Police Service Aides perform a multitude of functions including traffic control, accident investigation, and assistance with crime scenes. To apply for this position you must meet the following:

  • At least 19 years of age.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Applicants must pass the TABE test with a minimum score of 12.9 in Language/reading and 11.0 in math
  • Ability to pass the following:
    • Required written test
    • Oral Board
    • Background Investigation
    • Polygraph Examination
    • Chief's Interview
    • Psychological Screening
