Statement:
My work addresses the ideas of loss
and recovery over time – a concept
first introduced to me by my father
relating his experiences as a
Holocaust survivor. I make my wall
sculptures from handmade recycled
paper, scrapyard metal, my own
photographs, and encaustic (wax)
paint. I apply water and heat to
manipulate paper casts I make from
damaged objects into new shapes that
are healed, sturdy and lightweight.

Statement:
With a strong background in psychology, science fiction, creative writing,
drawing and printmaking, I have developed a portfolio of imaginative and
somewhat satirical artwork over the past 29 years. As I am more and more
fascinated with the chaotic beauty and perfect design of this physical
universe, I am even more interested in the underlying subtleties that our
senses cannot detect.

The Waterway series
explores the visual dynamics of transforming aerial views of the Everglades’
waterways into three dimensional sculptures. My current goal is to create
sculptures that pay homage to this natural environment by transforming the
landscape in a way that might give the viewer a chance to reexamine this
beauty...Click here for more...

Educated in Haute Couture in 1955, I
began a forty-seven year career in
fashion design. My specialty was
women’s clothing; primarily evening
and wedding dresses. My creativity
included successful designs in
theatrical costumes and Victorian
era clothing. The Illinois Theatre
Center, theatres in the city of
Chicago, as well as suburban
theatres, enjoyed my talents for
over seven years....Click

My artistic expression is through
clay and the experience evolves into
an adventure of wonder and
discovery. One of my
enjoyments is reading Haiku poetry,
which is contemplative and has a
peaceful naturalistic focus. In
this, I have found inspiration to
create forms with simple lines
complemented by color. Presently, my
personal vision and voice is an
intuitive translation of such
serenity into my work.
