Effective 3/22/07 South Florida Water Management issued Phase I Water Restrictions and the City is required to produce a 15% water consumption reduction.  To encourage water conservation City Ordinance #1391 will be implemented. The ordinance requires a 25% water surcharge during Phase I restrictions and a 50% surcharge during Phase II restrictions. 

For residential users the surcharge shall apply to consumption which exceeds 70% of the user's average monthly consumption. For commercial users the surcharge shall apply to consumption which exceeds 90% of the user's average monthly consumption. A surcharge will not be charged to any user who consumes 5,000 gallons or less during any billing period.
