Pembroke Pines has a median household income of $68,745 and over 66,000 housing units with a median value of $288,700 per unit. Statistics show the median age of the City is 39.5 years of age and Over 20% of the City is under 18 years old and 17.5% of the population is over 65 years old. The City is diverse with approximately 49.7% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino and 20% identified as Black or African American. 

The City has a total area of 34.7 square miles spread east and west between the Florida Turnpike and US 27.
