Hispanic American Heritage Festival

Pembroke Pines, FL (September 12, 2024) – In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the City of Pembroke Pines is hosting a Hispanic American Heritage Festival on Sunday, October 6, from 12-7 pm at the Chales F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way.

Event Details

This family friendly event for all ages will feature live entertainment with Lisset Morales, the Flanagan High School Jazz Band, The Viaje Band, and more. Visitors can enjoy a delicious showcase of Hispanic themed food trucks, dry goods, and activities for the whole family.

Each year, Americans observe Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. This year’s national theme is “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together” to encapsulate the spirit of innovation, resilience and unity that define the Hispanic experience. 

Observation of Hispanic Heritage Week started with one week in 1968 under President Lyndon B. Johnson and was later extended to a 30-day celebration by President Ronald Reagan, starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. It was enacted into law in 1988.
