Pembroke Pines, FL…February 28, 2017...The City of Pembroke Pines Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus, 301 NW 103rd Avenue, Pembroke Pines, FL offers a wide variety of special events, classes, workshops, etc. for people 18 years and older and membership is free.
 
The Center provides a friendly comfortable atmosphere, where members may volunteer, learn or enhance talents/skills and work on self-improvement through sewing and painting to language and exercise classes.  “The potential for enjoyment is endless at the Center,” said Vice Mayor Carl Shechter.  “This is a beautiful place to visit, have a bite to eat, take a class, volunteer, meet up with friends, read a book, shoot pool I could go on and on, but I won’t. Saint Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance with Live Entertainment:           
Friday, March 17, 2017.  Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and “rock” the dance floor! Prizes awarded for best St. Patty’s Day costumes! Bring a camera to take snapshots in front of the Pot of Gold photo backdrop! $10.00 per person - Buffet dinner at 5:30pm (reservations required) Dance starts at 6:30pm. Sponsored by Site Advisory Council.
 
Entertainment Day: 
Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 12:00noon to2pm. Sponsored by Site Advisory Council. Free for SWFP members.  Free for SWFP members.
 
Spring Tea Party:       
RSVP prior to March 12, 2017 to ensure seating for the March 22, 2017 Annual Spring Tea Party featuring afternoon tea sandwiches, decadent desserts and assorted teas! Event begins at 2:00 p.m., $18.00 per person.

Annual Spring Bonnet Contest with Prizes:
Thursday, March 23, 2017, 10:30am. Let your creativity soar and create a one-of-a-kind bonnet that will turn heads! Wear your creation to this event and you may win a prize! Free for SWFP members.
 
Entertainment and Dancing with DJ Mack:
Wednesday, March 29, 2017 beginning at 12:00p.m.  Free for SWFP members.
