Pembroke Pines, FL…April 20, 2017…. The Seventh Annual Senior Spelling BEE hosted by the City of Pembroke Pines Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 N.W. 103rd Avenue, will begin at 12:30 p.m. on May 16, 2017. Cash prizes are awarded to the First Place, Second Place and Third Place winners! 

People 60 years and older are invited to register for the popular and friendly competition prior to May 10, 2017, by calling 954.450.6888 and asking for the Activities Desk. A Webster's Dictionary will be consulted via laptop for definitions and sentences.  "We recommend potential contestants cozy up to their favorite edition of Webster's Dictionary for the next few weeks," said Helen Daniels, Recreation Division Supervisor at The Center.
