Pembroke Pines, FL… November 7, 2017… Make the most of the holidays by taking advantage of community events held at The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus located at 301 N.W. 103rd Avenue in Pembroke Pines, 33026.  Many events are free, although some require advanced reservations and/or a fee.  Please read on for additional information about each event.  Questions? Fourteenth Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive 
Donation deadline:  November 6, 2017.

Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome for the Annual Pembroke Pines Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center Campus Thanksgiving food drive to assist one hundred families. Donations will provide qualifying families with generously filled bins of non-perishable foods, turkeys and more to assure enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving meal. 2017 Holiday Ornament Sale begins Wednesday, November 15, 2017
Handcrafted stoneware ornaments made by the SWFP Center’s “Artists in Action” Pottery students and staff. $8.00 donation per ornament; all proceeds benefit seniors programs at the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center.  Ornaments may be purchased at the Activities Desk. Annual Holiday Open House - December 14, 2017. Event begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. 
Live entertainment, hot cocoa, cookies, face painting, and holiday displays. Santa will visit and give out party favors! Bring a camera and capture the joy!
New this year an UGLY Holiday Sweater Contest.
Two Categories: Ages 12 and younger and 12 and older. Prizes will be awarded!

Holiday Tea Party – 2:00 p.m. on December 20, 2017.

Deadline to register December 8, 2017.
Payment required at time of registration.

Enjoy a holiday celebration of sight, sound and taste during a festive afternoon proffering tea sandwiches, decadent desserts and assorted teas! The two-hour Tea begins promptly at 2:00 p.m. - $18.00 per person.
