Pembroke Pines, FL (August 16, 2018) – Selfie sticks and smiles came out as the City of Pembroke Pines, along with the Florida League of Cities and cities across the country, posed for a national event called #CityHallSelfie Day.  Employees and residents, the Mayor and Commissioners showed their city pride by taking selfies throughout the day at the Charles F. Dodge City Center located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines and then posting them online.

City Hall Selfie Day was established for locals to show their love, appreciation and spirit by stopping by their city hall or a government building, take a selfie and share it on social media for nothing short of bragging rights and recognition for their city.  Residents, employees and city officials smiled for the camera, demonstrated their creativity by using props and shared their photos using #CityHallSelfie and tagged @FLCities on social media.

Whether serious, funny or dramatic…Striking the right pose meant the possibility of winning a mention in the Florida League of Cities "Quality Cities" magazine and being digitally recognized in various categories which include Best Dressed City Hall Selfie; Best City Hall Selfie featuring an Animal or Mascot; Best Use of City Hall Selfie Props and more.  Lastly, Pembroke Pines can be recognized for having the most selfies taken that day.

You can see all of the action on the City's social media platforms.  For additional information, please go to http://elgl.org/city-hall-selfie/
