Learn from accomplished nature photographer Kirsten Hines as she reveals the fundamental secrets behind effectively capturing nature through photography! Using nature as our subject, this introductory course will instruct students on formal photography techniques, proper lighting strategies and more.
Award-winning travel and nature photographer Kirsten Hines’ artistic career has taken her around the world. As an experienced writer, photographer and environmental educator, Hines utilizes writing and photography to draw viewers into the intricate lives of plants and animals. With a Master of Science degree in biology, Kirsten is a member of the IUCN Iguana Specialist Group, a research associate at Florida’s Institute for Regional Conservation, and co-author of books such as Attracting Birds to South Florida Gardens and Biscayne National Park.

Frank Contemporaries is a pop-up exhibition showcasing emerging artists and creative community resources; an event that offers artists, students, arts professionals and industry insiders the opportunity to present their work, discover new peers and supporters, and foster professional connections.
Frank Contemporaries on July 25 will feature photographs taken throughout Africa by nature photographer, author and researcher Kirsten Hines. This event will include a presentation on the ‘Embrace Music Foundation’ by co-founder and board chair, musician and educator Willie Stewart, as well as an African dance and drumming performance led by Anita Macbeth, dance teacher at Bethune Elementary School of Visual & Performing Arts and former choreographer for the Bronx Council of the Arts, New York Housing Authority, and more..
