Assistant Chief Carlos Bermudez has proudly served the City of Pembroke Pines since joining our agency in October 1998.
During his time with the Pembroke Pines Police Department, Assistant Chief Bermudez held the following positions: road patrol officer, SWAT Operator, SWAT Assistant Team Leader, SWAT Team Leader, Patrol Sergeant, Internal Affairs Sergeant, Public Information Officer, Patrol Captain, Investigations Division Captain, Operations Bureau Major, and Administrative Bureau Major. Until his promotion to Assistant Chief, he most recently held the position of Administrative Bureau Deputy Chief, overseeing all units of the Professional Standards Division and the Support/Community Services Division.
Assistant Chief Bermudez holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute and University. He is a graduate of the 260th Session of the FBI National Academy. In addition, Assistant Chief Bermudez attended and successfully completed courses from the International Association of Chiefs of Police – Leadership in Police Organizations, Nova Southeastern University – Executive Leadership Program, University of Louisville – Southern Police Institute – Command Officer Development, as well as thousands of hours in law enforcement training and tactics.
