From Sawgrass to Seagrass, residents and visitors will participate in beach side, board walk, and trail head book discussions, presentations, programs, workshops and a festival that truly kicks off One Book One Broward. One Book One Broward -- Start the New Year READING with Broward County Libraries annual initiative One Book One Broward (OBOB). Join all who live, learn, work and play in Broward County from January 1 to February 28, 2026 to build deeper connections through a single book community read. This year’s theme Our Nature: How Our Physical Environment Can Lead Us to Seek Hope, Courage, and Connection will be guided by the matrilinear storytelling in the novel “The Seed Keeper” by Diane Wilson and the youth companion book “The First Blade of Sweetgrass” by Suzanne Greenlaw and Gabriel Frey. This initiative will provide human connection, cultural heritage preservation, and diverse perspectives that enable deeper understanding of our community while celebrating reading in South-Florida’s great outdoors.
