For the third consecutive year, the City of Pembroke Pines and the School Board of Broward County are joining together to invite families and friends to take part in a City of Kindness Event: Kindness/ Compassion/Forgiveness on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Walter C. Young Middle School field located at 901 N.W. 129th Avenue in Pembroke Pines.
Taking place during the lunchtime hours, residents are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and fully engage themselves in the spirit of peace day by making random acts of kindness promises, enjoying musical entertainment performed by children from different Pembroke Pines area schools and much more. Families will have an opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere and can decorate the Picnic Areas by embellishing their picnic blankets, baskets, backpacks, totes and coolers. Residents and friends may tag their acts of kindness throughout the day with #PinesIsKind.
