  • Each Residential Service Unit may place up to 10 cubic yards of bulk waste per scheduled pickup.

    • Allowance for Larger Piles: Residents may request up to two pickups per calendar year that exceed the 10-cubic-yard limit, by contacting Eastern Waste Systems (EWS) at (954) 543-9800 or online at www.easternwaste.com/pembroke-pines
    • Overage Fee: After the two annual allowances are used, residents who exceed the 10-cubic-yard limit will be charged $15.00 per cubic yard for the overage. 
    • Non-Conforming Bulk: Bulk waste that is non-conforming (e.g., contractor-generated debris, hazardous waste, overweight/oversized bulk) will not be collected
    • Contractor-Generated Debris: 
      • Debris generated by a contractor (e.g., from remodeling, repairs, equipment installation, or yard work/tree trimming performed by a contractor) must be removed from the site by the contractor who generated it.
      • If contractor-generated debris is left curbside and determined to be non-conforming bulk, Eastern Waste Systems (EWS) may remove it for a fee of $25.00 per cubic yard.

    • Bulk must be placed by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.
    • Keep at least 3 feet from obstructions (mailboxes, trees, etc.).
    • Loose items (leaves, small branches) must be bagged or bundled.
    • No glass is accepted.
    • Contractor-generated debris will not be collected, the contractor performing the work (tree trimming, fencing project, etc.) must remove the waste.

    • Contractor-Generated Debris:
      • Debris created by a contractor, such as from remodeling, repairs, equipment installation, fencing projects, or yard work/tree trimming performed by a hired contractor, must be removed and properly disposed of by the contractor who generated it.
        • If contractor-generated debris is left curbside and deemed non-conforming bulk, Eastern Waste Systems (EWS) may remove it for a fee of $25.00 per cubic yard.
    • Construction & Demolition Debris:
      • The City has an exclusive franchise agreement with Waste Pro for the collection of all construction and demolition debris. Residents and businesses may not contract with any other hauler for this service.
        • However, if you own and use your own vehicles or roll-off containers, you may utilize those instead.

  • Yes. Bulk yard waste and bulk trash may be mixed in one pile for collection.

  • No. Glass is not accepted for bulk pickup.

  • Place items curbside before 7:00 a.m. on your designated collection day, at least 3 feet away from mailboxes, trees, or overhead wires.

  • Refrigerators, air conditioners, and other appliances containing Freon will only be collected if a certified technician has removed the Freon and affixed the required sticker and tag. For refrigerators, the compressor and all doors must also be removed before collection.

  • No. Items such as batteries, oil, paint, and chemicals are not accepted. Residents should check the City’s website for the household hazardous waste drop-off schedule.
