Captain Abrahamson has proudly served the City of Pembroke Pines since graduating from the 240th Broward Police Academy class on April 21, 2006.
Captain Abrahamson served as a road patrol officer until he was promoted to the rank of sergeant on February 4, 2015. He has since been promoted to the rank of captain on January 16, 2019.
As a patrol officer Captain Abrahamson was a member of the Mobile Field Force unit, the Dive Team, a part-time member of the Crime Suppression Team, and also a Field Training Officer. After being promoted to the rank of sergeant and completing his probationary period, Captain Abrahamson was selected as a Field Training Sergeant. He was later selected to serve as a sergeant in the Internal Affairs unit until the time he was promoted to captain.
Prior to joining the Pembroke Pines Police Department, Captain Abrahamson attended Long Island University-Southampton College, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. As a sergeant, Captain Abrahamson attended the 2nd session of the Public Safety Leadership Academy at Broward College. He has been awarded a Distinguished Performance Award along with several individual and unit commendations.
Captain Abrahamson currently oversees the Administrative Services Division.
