Public Disclaimers

The Florida Statutes identifies public records as all documents, papers, letters, maps, books, tapes, photographs, films, sound recordings, data processing software, or other material, regardless of the physical form, characteristics, or means of transmission, made or received pursuant to Florida's Public Records Law, Chapter 119, City Ordinance 935, or in connection with the transaction of official business by any agency.


Inspection, examination, and duplication of records. (Chapter 119.07 of State of Florida Statutes).  Every person who has custody of a public record shall permit the record to be inspected and examined by any person desiring to do so, at any reasonable time, under reasonable conditions, and under supervision by the custodian of the public record or the custodian’s designee. 

Fees. An estimated cost can be provided to you for approval prior to the start of any research. This will include any associated costs for researching and collecting information by the City Clerk's Department.  

  • Cost for Copies  - If the information being requested can be e-mailed, there are no document fees. If paper copies are preferred, there is a charge of $0.15 for single-sided pages and $0.25 for double-sided pages. City Ordinance 935 and (Chapter 119.07 of State of Florida Statutes).
  • Research - The first half hour of research/copy time is free. If research/copy time exceeds a half hour, the actual cost for extensive use of information technology resources and the actual cost of the person doing the research plus a 30% surcharge will be charged.


Providing Email Address.  The City of Pembroke Pines is a public entity and, under Florida law, all email addresses provided are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in a public records request, please do not send electronic mail to the City of Pembroke Pines. Instead, contact the City of Pembroke Pines by phone or in writing at The City Clerk’s Office.

Exemptions. Under Florida’s public records law, when a public record contains information that is exempt from disclosure, the records custodian must redact the exempt information and disclose the remainder of the public record. This may affect research time. F.S. Chapter 119 Exemptions.
