The Police Department offers the Police Explorers Program for young adults, ages 14 to 19, that express an interest in becoming or being a part of law enforcement as a career. Explorers have the opportunity to experience hands-on law enforcement training, police ride-alongs, practical exercises, local and state competitions, and more.
Qualifications
The teens must be in high school (Grades 9th - 12th), have at least a 2.0 grade average, be of good moral values, have never committed any crimes, and be interested in law enforcement. Meetings are normally held on Wednesday nights at the Police Department headquarters (9500 Pines Boulevard) from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
No forms are required to join - simply show up at one of our meetings, which are located immediately outside of our East PD lobby!
